Alisa Hamilton has taught mathematics across grades 6 through high school. She began her teaching career at Paramount Bard Academy in Delano, CA, and later taught 8th grade math at Stonecreek Junior High and high school mathematics at Golden Valley High School. She is currently a Math Program Specialist at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools, where she partners with teachers and administrators across Kern County to strengthen mathematics instruction, professional learning, and student access to meaningful mathematical experiences. Throughout her work, she is guided by a belief that all students can see themselves as capable mathematicians.
In her spare time, Alisa enjoys spending time with her family, being creative with fiber arts, and finding moments of calm outdoors or with a good book. She enjoys life with her blended family: her husband, three boys, and two dogs.
